As a second generation resident of the Southeast Side of Chicago, Jessica is committed to this community. She is proud of the life her parents, Braulio and Yolanda DeAnda, have built here. She attended St. Francis De Sales and Douglas Taylor Elementary Schools and graduated from George Washington High School. She and her husband are currently raising their four children here on the South East Side of Chicago. So, you can be sure that Jessica is committed to providing for the 10th Ward.
As early as her teen years, Jessica has been an active member of the community in a variety of ways. The beginning of her community involvement was her volunteer work and summer jobs with the Chicago Park Districts. As early as her teen years, Jessica has been an active member of the community in a variety of ways. The beginning of her community involvement was her volunteer work and summer jobs with the Chicago Park Districts. While earning her bachelor’s Degree at DePaul University, Jessica coached Sacred Heart’s Kindergarten Soccer team and assisted with many Chicago Park District activities at Calumet Park. She continues to be involved with various organizations, such as the East Side Chamber of Commerce, and Cub Scouts, assisting with events including the Annual Trunk or Treat, Annual Community Block Party and Annual Tree lighting Ceremonies.
Jessica has always been drawn to helping children grow into respectable and successful young adults. In 2005, Jessica co-founded the TIA & gramma organization. TIA & GRAMMA assisted in sending families to explore the wonderful opportunities here in Chicago. Jessica believes that having that family unity is important to the growth of a

TIA & GRAMMA assisted in sending families to explore the wonderful opportunities here in Chicago. Jessica believes that having that family unity is important to the growth of a community. And she believes that understanding the resources available to you is paramount in succeeding in life. Currently TIA & GRAMMA is working on creating a community center in the south deering neighborhood.

Jessica has been a Chicago Police Officer for over 16 years, and is still employed with CPD. As a Chicago Police Officer, she has worked in several units throughout the city, including the 4th district. Working as a Police Officer has given her a healthy perspective on addressing crime related issues. Working out in the field has also provided her with insight as to the needs of the youth and families. Jessica came into contact with a variety of households at their worst moments. What she discovered is that there is a great need of resources for the youth and families. There is a great need to provide the youth with programs that assist in building their educational foundation as well as their self-confidence in knowing that there are more opportunities out there for them.
Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in 2017 and has a law practice located within the community where she specializes in family law.
